Jason Epsie has been drawn to rhythm, music and dance for as long as he can remember.  Sometime in the late-90's he bought his first djembe and sought out teachers and people to play with.  Most of his instruction has been in the West African tradition, but he's an equal opportunist poly-rhythmist.  He has been playing, studying, and performing with the Charlottesville Community Drum Choir, lead by Kevin Munro, for more than a decade.  He finds joy and peace in both the making and participation of music, and is thankful to his many teachers who have been generous with their art and knowledge.
